ABOUT US...
Approximately 470 students are enrolled in grades kindergarten through four along with a committed and caring staff.
Classroom teachers are supported by specialists in art, music, physical education, special education, reading, and guidance. Speech, physical therapy, occupational therapy, gifted education, and psychological services are available through the Columbiana County Educational Service Center. The elementary also houses a preschool and Head Start.
The elementary is supported by a PTO and parent/community volunteers who are highly visible in the building, participating and interacting with staff and students in many capacities.
Our students all participate in the Success for All (SFA) Reading program that helps our students achieve grade level performance or above, whatever their challenges and abilities. SFA is a comprehensive reading program emphasizing prevention and early intervention. SFA is an approved model in accordance with the “No Child Left Behind” legislation. It is based on extensive research into the ways children learn to read and write. At the heart of the program is 90 minutes of uninterrupted, daily reading instruction and beginning in Grade 1, children are grouped across classes and grades by reading level.
This is only the beginning. Our vision is Excellence for all…excellence from all. Come and see what East Palestine Elementary is all about. We would love to see you!
